Clearwire Corporation today unveiled Rover(TM): the nation’s first pay-as-you-go 4G mobile broadband service for tech-savvy Gen Y customers. The Rover brand is designed for digitally addicted youth who refuse to settle for long-term contracts, overpriced internet service, or speeds slower than what they’ve become accustomed to at home.

Visit www.ROVER.com for coverage area map and more details about this product. Initial sales will be limited to on-line and at select retail stores in Houston Texas and St. Louis Missouri, such as the Best Buy and CLEAR corporate stores.

CLEAR has some new commercials that will be showing on the Internet soon. CLEAR has repackaged their 4G hotspot in a new shape designed to attract this age group, and their 4G modem as well. The hotspot is a disc shaped device.

Pricing will be for Unlimited Usage for Just $5/day, $20/week, $50/month

Rover’s flagship device is the Rover Puck: an ergonomically designed portable Wi-Fi hotspot that lets you share broadband access, or “Puck”, with up to eight devices at home, out on the town or nearly anywhere the feeling strikes you. The Rover Puck can easily slip into a purse or backpack and serve as an on-the-go broadband access point for devices such as laptops, netbooks, the iPad(TM), the iPod touch(R), smartphones, PSP(R) systems, game consoles, and Wi-Fi enabled digital cameras, among others. Users have the option to connect up to eight Wi-Fi enabled devices simultaneously.

The Rover Puck features mobile download speeds of three to six mbps, with bursts over 10 mbps (up to 4x faster than conventional 3G), using Clearwire’s 4G network. The Rover Puck is available today for $149.99 (plus tax).

The Rover Stick(TM) is a personal 4G USB modem that connects any notebook, laptop or desktop to the Rover 4G Service. The Rover Stick is compatible with MacBook(R) and MacBook(R) Pro laptops using Mac OS X, as well as netbooks and notebooks running Windows(R) XP, Windows Vista(R) and Windows(R) 7. Offering the same super-fast internet speed as the Rover Puck, the Rover Stick is available today for $99.99 (plus tax).

Rover is available in all of Clearwire’s 49 4G markets across the U.S. at rover.com. Rover is also available at CLEAR stores, Best Buy stores and select independent wireless dealers in Houston and St. Louis.

“Simple, commitment-free wireless services are wildly popular with the Gen Y crowd, and Rover provides them with the first pay-as-you-go unlimited mobile internet offering at 4G speeds,” said Mike Sievert, chief commercial officer for Clearwire. “We’ve built Rover from the ground up with products, pricing and features designed specifically to serve a younger market who knows how you get connected is just as important as where. Expanding our offers to meet this underserved segment is an important new business opportunity for Clearwire as we continue to extend our leadership in mobile broadband.”

“The opportunity for pay-as-you-go mobile broadband should not be underestimated,” said Carrie MacGillvray, program manager and wireless analyst at IDC. “Prepaid — or pay-as-you-go — data provides an option for consumers to experiment with the power of mobile broadband without being saddled with a two-year commitment. A prepaid mobile broadband service can offer consumers the ability to access and share Internet service, at home or on the go, in an affordable way.”

Rover is priced at $5/day, $20/week, or $50/month for unlimited 4G internet usage. Depending on the retail channel, customers will be able to purchase a Rover Re-Up PIN code or physical Rover Re-Up card in $20 or $50 denominations. Rover Re-Up is available online at rover.com, at all retail outlets carrying the Rover Puck or Rover Stick, as well as at Rover Re-Up specific retail locations. Rover does not require a credit card to activate service and is designed to bring broadband internet to a new audience.

Note for those who didn’t know the terms:

“Pre-Launch” is when CLEAR starts selling locally, but their network isn’t 100% completed. If you sign up during this phase, you are the beta testers so to speak, but CLEAR now has their methods perfected from repetition, so don’t worry too much. You’ll experience a few more holes in covered areas, but those will quickly get filled in over the next month or two.

“Commercial Launch” is where the big public push starts, with advertising on bill boards, special events, news coverage, etc. San Antonio pre-launched last November 1st, and went commercial launch on December 8th with a big hoopla in front of the Alamo downtown.

San Antonio is now considered a “Mature Market”, having survived childbirth and grown into a stable, but still expanding, market.

Contact us at WiMax San Antonio / Austin for all your CLEAR questions or needs. We’ll be here to help you, 7 days a week (cause we take off on the 8th day each week). Call us at 210-771-7075 or email us at lee@wimaxsatx.com. Feel free to post comments to any of our articles that we’ve shared with you here. We do moderate all comments to help keep out the spam and unrelated postings.

Well, with the big push this month in August for the “Back to School” special deals on all CLEAR 4G+ modems and hotspots, the demand has out stripped the available supply of 4G+ Hotspot modems.

At only $50/month for service, plus $5.99/month for equipment, this item has proven to be extremely popular with the customers, breaking sales goals set by corporate, just like the San Antonio market has exceeded its sales goals for 2010 SIX MONTHS EARLY.

This past Friday, August 20th, the local CLEAR Staff & Dealers got the “bad” news that the guy who helped launch the San Antonio CLEAR Market last year, Samuel “Sam” Rosario, was being stolen by by New York City’s CLEAR Market.

Yep, stolen from San Antonio, from under our noses.

All the hours of hard work Sam put in, all that over time on evenings and weekends, to the point that even his skin was turning the same shade of green as the official logo, has resulted in a serious promotion for Sam, and he deserves it! Hmm, wonder if all that green Koolaid he was drinking and lack of exposure to sunlight had anything to do with that skin color changing. Just kidding!

Sam had been the Indirect Sales Manager for San Antonio since before it launched on November 1st, 2009. He started by working out of his garage until CLEAR rented office space to be official. He recruited & hired the Indirect Account Reps, training them and sending them out to make cold calls upon prospective dealers who had never even heard of CLEAR.

He conducted info and training meetings for the dealers, and helped convince us that we ought to jump on his coat tails and become CLEAR Dealers. Many of us local dealers, became dealers because either Sam, or his handful of Account Reps, personally convinced us this was a viable risk to take at the time.

You remember that old saying “Be careful what you wish for, cause you might get it” ??? Well, Sam apparently did such a great job launching San Antonio, breaking and exceeding every sales goal / quota that CLEAR Corporate set for him, that they decided he deserved to be tapped for the new launch market in New York City, not as the Indirect Sales Manager, but as the head honcho, the General Manager who is responsible for the entire market.

When CLEAR opened in San Antonio last fall, they had four ways of selling services. Local Dealers (liks us), Big Box Stores (like Best Buy & Radio Shack), their own website, and inside sales reps (called direct sales) who made cold calls via the Yellow Pages or door to door. About 6 months into this market, the inside sales rep idea was discontinued, and focus was placed on the local dealers (refered to as “authorized resellers” or “indirect sales”) because apparently (our own observation) it was more cost effective per sale that way.

Nothing stays the same, but this this should be a good career move for Sam Rosario, and we’re proud to have known him when he was just knee high to a grasshopper, trying to build a new market for CLEAR in San Antonio where everybody thought “CLEAR” meant “Clear Channel Communications”, the parent company of WOAI Radio 1200, the bill board giant in the area, and owner of WOAI Channel 4 TV Station.

We’ve not been told yet who will be promoted or hired to fill the vacancy thus created in San Antonio, but for the time being, Daric Hollis, San Antonio’s General Manager for CLEAR, will be covering those duties as well as his own. Whoever fills Sam’s shoes with CLEAR in San Antonio, will have to reach really high to match the professional standards set by Sam Rosario.

Best of luck, Sam! Don’t forget us in San Antonio! If you need our help, just send airline tickets!

One of our clients recently ordered (from us) and just received their CLEAR 4G+ Hotspot today. Gary was kind enough to let us be the one to open the new box, photograph it for this website, and then show him how to set it up.

This device is tiny! Smaller than we had expected, based upon the size of the other CLEAR 4G Hotspot that only does 4G. We’ll do a photo review of that one next. About 3 inches square, and 1/2 inch thick. Looks like a Hocky Puck in all shiny black (that attracts lots of finger prints, and makes it hard to photograph with flash).

This CLEAR 4G+ Hotspot runs on both the 4G and 3G network. When first activated on the 4G side, it may take up to 2 hours before the 3G activation takes place, because CLEAR’s computer has to tell Sprint’s computer to activate it, and that takes a while. It MUST be activated inside a 4G service area the first time, or it won’t activate at all. Please do not frustrate yourself, us and CLEAR Customer Care by failing to follow those simple steps as we indicate in our photos below.

The USB Charging cable is the same as the one used for the Sprint EVO, the micro USB cable, very flat thin connector (see photo later). The CLEAR 4G+ comes with a 3 foot long USB cable and AC adapter that you plug the USB cable into. You can also buy (not included) a car USB charger adapter from Walmart, etc, that will let you charge up to 2 USB devices at a time, etc. for under $15. You might even already have some if you are using Smart Phones that use USB charging method. We bought a spare 10 foot cord from local Altex Electronics store for about $9 plus tax. if you do go buy a spare / longer cable, take your original with you to verify the new cable has the right connector on it.

The box came in plain brown box, shipped over night via FedEx for about $4.95 (special CLEAR rate). Inside was lots of bubble pack, a packing slip, and a much smaller package with the Clearspot inside. There were two clear tabs you had to lift up or cut in order to let the black box (looks like a larger version of the Clearspot 4G+) slide out.

Once opened you saw the usual CLEAR documation / starter guide, the Clearspot without a battery installed, the battery, the back battery case, the USB cable and AC adapter. All wrapped in their own plastic bag that had to be torn or cut open.

We’ve included photos showing the installation of the battery / cover, where the USB cable plugs in, the micro SD memory slot (not sure what that is used for yet), and the status display when turned on. The battery came about 1/2 charged, but didn’t last more than about 45 minutes while we initially played with it. We later plugged in the charger and then we were good to play. Initial speed tests using www.Speedtest.net, was between 7mbs and 8mbps, not to shabby for a hotspot. We’ll borrow it back and do more speed tests later, to directly compare with the USB modems, the 4G only hotspot, etc.

Here are our photos. We embedded some titles / comments on some of them.

CLEAR has this item on sale in the San Antonio / Austin markets (and others) with service plans reduced to $50/month plus the $5.99 equipment lease on a 2 year contract. With tax, it runs about$57/month in our area. In other markets around the USA, if not on sale, the cost will be $5 higher. This sale price is a “back to school” special deal that is likely to expire at the end of August.

Contact WiMax San Antonio to purchase this device from us if you are in the San Antonio or Austin market. We’ll drop ship it to you by 3pm the next business day if ordered before 5pm CDT. If ordered on a weekend, it will arrive Tuesday. We’re trying to get some in our local inventory, but with it being such a new hot item, that has turned out harder to do than we anticipated initially. But for $4.95 one time shipping fee, and getting it between noon and 3pm the next business day, that’s a heck of a deal anyway.

Contact us at 210-771-7075 or email lee@wimaxsatx.com for more details or to order one of these devices.

Effective August 1st, for a limited time,CLEAR’s “Back to School” promotion has lowered the pricing for their line of 4G+ dual band modems (4G/3G combo), including their personal hotspot line of products. 4G pricing remains the same, only the 4G+ versions were affected. How long will this sale last? We don’t know, but do know you are good thru the end of August at this rate, and once locked into a rate, CLEAR normally won’t raise it and risk losing a customer.

Get any 4G+ device from CLEAR and save $60/year on service fees. Pricing has been lowered from $55/month to only $50 a month for this promotion period. Now is the time to get one of the 4G+ plus mobile devices and save.

We’re a bit lucky in the San Antonio / Austin markets, as our pricing hasn’t gone up for monthly fees like some of the prices on the CLEAR website indicate. We just visited their site and found $60.99/month for 4G+ USB Modem service, $43.99 for the 4G only USB or Home service. We’re only $50/month for 4G+ and $40/month for 4G service. Oh, and remember our $55/month 4G combo of Home & USB modem? Clear’s website wants $63.99/month now for that combo service plan. When will these increased prices reach us in Texas? We don’t know, but you ought to sign up this month to get all the lower price deals and not get caught short holding a higher price tag for delaying.

Want to upgrade? You can do that as well. If you are under contract, CLEAR will charge a “$40 upgrade fee” to upgrade you from a 4G device to a 4G+ device. Your 2 yr contract starts over fresh however. But since now all CLEAR contracts have basically eliminated the dreaded ETF, and only charge $40 restocking fee (per device), that’s not such a bitter pill to swallow. Upgrading requires you to work with CLEAR Customer Care via their toll free line 888-888-3113, rather than allowing us local dealers to help you. That’s just the way the rules are written.

But if you just want to add or subscribe to new service using a 4G+ device, we can help you! All such items are being drop shipped over night by FedEx, and CLEAR charges a one time shipping fee of $4.95 at time of order. Your new decice will be delivered the next business day if ordered prior to 5pm CST. If you contact us at 7PM wanting to order, well, it’s after 5PM, so don’t expect it the next day.

Contact WiMax San Antonio / Austin for more info about these wonderful 4G+ devices and personal hotspots, you’ll be glad you did! Call us at 210-771-7075 for San Antonio or 512-52-CLEAR for Austin. Email us at lee@wimaxsatx.com for either market. Remember, we only work 7 days a week, so don’t call us on that 8th day!

Starting this month (August), CLEAR has apparently started to restrict the sale of fixed location Home Modems (4G only) and even some 4G USB or Personal Hotspots, depending upon your service address. The following is just an opinion / conjecture on our part, based partially on factual statements made by CLEAR to us dealers, conversation with other CLEAR Account Reps and Dealers in both San Antonio and Austin markets, and our actual hands on experiences this past week while trying to sell CLEAR in these two markets.

Sometimes growth causes growing pains. Remember when Cell Phones first came to town? Some areas were better covered than others, some areas you got “network busy” messages on frequent basis. Over time, the cell phone companies expanded their systems, to the extent that now we have two of the major carriers (AT&T and Verizon) poking fingers at each other, claiming to have the best 3G Coverage. Well, CLEAR has the best 4G coverage, in fact the only 4G coverage, and they are spending literally billions of dollars to expand and promote their network. In fact, in a recent release statement, parent company Clearwire execs reported they have reached 1.7 million actual subscribers already in the USA, and their expansion plans call to double the number of markets (cities) by the end of 2010.

First of all, we think part of the “problem” as we perceive it, is that CLEAR has been such an over whelming success, that they’ve simply over sold in some areas of their market. Too many CLEAR customers on too few towers. You might remember that I mentioned a while back, that CLEAR in San Antonio alone, had reached their 2010 December sales goal by the end of May 2010. They started a major expansion effort in San Antonio, building new towers where they couldn’t find an existing tower to piggy back, and adding more receivers to existing towers where they need to support more clients. All in all, we were told to expect about 120 new towers or enhanced tower sites around San Antonio using construction funds reserved for the last 6 months of 2010.

We’ve found (live experience) that certain areas of town where we previously sold 4G home modems with or without voice, now are unable to be sold the same product. CLEAR’s prequalify process tells the dealers what products we are allowed to sell in that neighborhood. As an Authorized Retailer (aka Dealer), we are prohibited from faking a service address in order to get around the restriction. We might be able to sell you a Business 4G plan instead of a Home 4G plan, but it will cost you $10/month extra. We can almost always sell you a 4G+ product or combo, because that is where CLEAR’s new growth focus is now pointing.

Some areas of town are okay for all CLEAR products, others are now restricted to the sale of dual mode (4G+) modems or hotspots only.

With the new lower pricing on 4G/3G modems (USB & hotspots) set at $50/month, CLEAR hopes to refocus on being a mobile Internet wireless provider, not just an ISP like your local Internet Provider (AT&T, Time Warner, etc.) They want you to be able to run CLEAR anywhere you can get a 4G or 3G signal, and not be restricted only to those areas where you have just 4G service.

For folks using only Laptops, Netbooks and Smartphones, this new strategy makes a lot of sense. But for those folks who are coming late to the party, wanting to replace their AT&T DSL or Time Warner Road Runner service, well, sometimes if you are late to the party you only get the crumbs of the cake instead of a slice of it.

If you have been turned down for 4G home service in the Austin or San Antonio market areas, contact WiMaxSatx to see what we can do for you. Remember we are restricted by our contract with CLEAR to abide by their policies, so don’t expect miracles. But sometimes we have succeeded in getting folks approved for normal 4G service. We’ll be happy to sell you any of the 4G+ products as well, and many cases, that would be your best long term bet, especially if you take our computer with you on any trips outside of our immediate 4G coverage area.

Contact WiMax San Antonio / Austin at 210-771-7075 or email us at lee@wimaxsatx.com. We only work 7 days a week, taking off on the 8th, so feel free to contact us about any CLEAR sales / connection questions during normal daytime hours. You can all TEXT MESSAGE us at the above number as well, 24/7. For many connection issues, existing customers should call CLEAR Customer Care at 1-888-888-3113 or use the online Chat Support at www.clear.com (assuming you are able to get on the Internet).

You’ve been waiting for us to bring you more info about our experiment in transplanting a regular CLEAR home modem into a weather proof external enclosure with a hi-gain antenna. We’re using Power over Ethernet to run power outside to the modem. We’ve tested it up to 133 degrees (F) and down to Zero degrees (F). That exceeds the FCC tested approval rating for range of temperature operations.

Initial testing shows we get a much stronger signal with it outside, but we anticipated that. But we used the original CLEAR Motorola modem, the CPEi25150 modem (the one with the lights on top, not the front). Since then, CLEAR came out with the CLEAR Motorola Series M modem (CPEi25725 with the lights on front edge) and we’ve found it to be more sensitive on receive than the original modem. So we’ve gone back to the design desk to build future units out of the newer, more sensitive modem instead.

I’m sitting out in the middle of a hotel parking lot in Austin, Texas, as I upload this, using CLEAR of course. They’re having a Ham Radio (Amateur Radio) Ham Fest (sort of a flea market with seminars & meetings). I’m out in what they call the “Tailgate area” where you find a parking spot, setup your wares, and wait for other ham operators to come by and check you out. Getting lots of interest, unfortunately mostly from folks living out in the boonies where there is no CLEAR service available, even with our exterior modified modem.

But in the meantime, here are some photos of our current design. We’re selling the mod for $150 (plus cost of modem) with a 2-3 week turn around if we are modifying the modem you shipped us. We have faster turn around if you bought the modem from us of course. Here are some photos…

Those of you who have been regular subscribers to our website, were already aware that we’ve been working with a Texas based radio engineering firm to develop a “solution” regarding current CLEAR home modems that can’t accept a connection to an external antenna.

That status just changed for the better. We’ve moved from theory, to proof of concept, to actual units in the field for testing, as of Sunday, July 11th.

We now have a solution for an external antenna / modem arrangement that is undergoing limited beta testing in San Antonio at select CLEAR customer sites, where their signal is less than to be desired, due to terrain and distance from the nearest CLEAR tower site. We can’t create a signal out of thin air where there isn’t one, but we can enhance the receive signal where the signal is weak, in many cases, with our better antenna design and ability to mount it where can get a better signal. If you are already getting 4 or 5 bars, or even just 3, on your home CLEAR 4G modem, you probably won’t be interested in what we’ve done.

Our solution won’t be the perfect one for everybody, but we think most of those who cough up the money for the conversion will be happy with the results.

Our solution uses the same MAC address registered with CLEAR, and remains within the specs of the original FCC Type Acception. We did not alter the existing specs regarding effective power output or range of temperature operation. We’ve tested it up to 56 degrees Celsius (about133 degrees Fahrenheit), which is hotter than the original specs, and the modem kept on working, within FCC & manufacturer specs.

We use some very expensive, sophisticated electronics radio gear to measure, test and adjust the built-in radio that is the modem, just to keep in specs and enhance performance. Every conversion is tested by a certified radio engineer, prior to shipping or delivery back to the paying customer. We only use, or convert, authorized CLEAR issued Motorola 4G WiMax modems, not a third party solution. We provide before & after printed reports FROM THE M OTOROLA MODEM ITSELF, to let you compare the improvement in reception abilities after we have done our part.

In the beginning, there was a home modem, actually about 3 different models of them, provided by CLEAR in various markets. Original, Series M, & Series G.

Here in Texas, and in most other CLEAR markets, the Motorola wi4 WiMAX CPEi 150 Desktop CPE modem was the original king of the home 4G desktop modems, the one with the status lights on the top.

But then came its replacement, the Motorla CPEi 725 modem, referred to as the “Series-M” modem. Neither accept external antenna connections. According to Motorla’s website…

The WiMAX CPEi 725 features a balanced blend of integrated design, data and voice access ports, high gain antennas with omni directional performance to offer best possible signal strength.

It’s signal strength indicator lights are on the front edge, rather than the top like the CPEi 150. Local tests show that in many cases, the built-in antenna is superior in reception to the previous modem.

In some other test markets, Las Vegas for one, CLEAR has sold / leased a third modem, called the “Series-G” modem made by GEMTEK. It features a more modern look, with rounded edges and curved design. We’ve never had the GEMTEK modem here in San Antonio, so we’ve been unable to compare results with the other two CLEAR 4G desktop modems.

We’ll be starting some live testing with real CLEAR customers in San Antonio this week, and we’ll post some photos of our unit within the next day or two, along with some videos of our live testing.

Our design is completely weather proof, even with Texas weather, and more importantly, does not require running a separate external power line. There are no user accessible adjustments, other than the hardware to mount it and your choice of orientation toward the nearest CLEAR tower site. We used only top industrial quality parts, not stuff from your local electronics store. The converted CLEAR 4G Wimax home modem can be used inside or outside your house or builidng. You can mount it under the eave of the roof, on a tower or pole, or re-use that mounting bracket that used to hold your satellite TV dish.

We will be including everything except the CAT 5e cable used to connect the enclsure to your router or computer inside the building. We recommend that most folks do not use more than 75′ of CAT 5e ethernet cable between the enclosure and your router, for reasons we’ll share later. We include the basic mounting hardware to mount to a tower or pole, and instruction on how to attach the hardware to the enclosure. You supply the appropriate CAT 5e ethernet cable of your choice, or we can supply it for a small additional charge.

Remember, this is using CLEAR Motorola modems, but CLEAR has not endorsed this modification, nor will they support the warranty if you have their modem modified by us. We’ll sell & activate you a new CLEAR 4G desktop modem, or we’ll take your existingCLEAR 4G desktop modem and convert it. It takes longer to turn around a conversion than it does to simply sell you a new one, but CLEAR won’t let you use any modem other than one they sell thru a dealer or their website. This is NOT a solution for use with the USB modems, nor the CLEAR Spot personal wi-fi hotspot devices.

If you are leasing your CLEAR home modem, we do NOT recommend this conversion for you, because you will need to return the modem “in orignal condition” if you drop your lease with CLEAR. But if you buy your CLEAR 4G desktop modem, it’s your choice to void the warranty by letting us convert it.

We plan to have 2 levels of pricing, 1) conversion of your existing CLEAR modem, or 2) conversion of a newly activated modem sold by us. If you figure in the hassle factor, shipping time both directions, it will be much faster to buy a new modem from us, but if you are under contract with CLEAR, this won’t be a good option for you.

In the beginning phase as we ramp up production, we expect realistically that there may be up to a 3-4 weeek turn around for the conversion of an existing CLEAR modem, and possibly up to a 2 week delay for conversion of new modems activated by us. We can’t simply convert a stock of modems in advance of an order, because for some strange reason, CLEAR wants their inventory to remain, well, their inventory, until sold and activated to a customer. We think they might take a dim view to us converting a bunch of their modems if we don’t have new customers lined up to buy them.

Also, this radio engineering firm is just a small 3 man operation here in Texas, and is not geared up for mass production of the scale we think we’ll need really soon. So there may be some growing pains as supply chains are firmed up for the various components, but all the labor is done here in Texas. By the way, those of involved in this concept are all licensed ham radio operators as well, so we really do understand antenna theory, and are used to building our own antennas when the stock commercial antenna doesn’t work the way we wanted it to.

Feel free to post your comments, questions, etc., using the comment form below, or send your email to lee@wimaxsatx.com. You can also call or text us at (210) 771-7075 during reasonable hours (not in the middle of the night, please).

Stay tuned! We’re really excited about this!

We announced that CLEAR was increasing coverage in the San Antonio metro area last month, but we learned yesterday, that they are currently concentrating on improving coverage within the city area by doubling up existing 4G Wimax receiver sites in the areas where coverage was heavily subscribed or there were weak signal areas. Already customers have been reporting to us that they were used to getting perhaps 3 signal bars on their home modems, but as of this past week, they are getting 5 bars on a regular basis. Way to go, CLEAR!

Obviously, it’s more cost effective for CLEAR to ramp up their existing tower sites, rather than paying for new ones to be installed, but we’ve been told that “eventually” CLEAR will start expanding outward from the current coverage area. CLEAR’s coverage maps on their website don’t keep up with all the fast changes happening, so contact WiMax San Antonio for updated information.

What time frame for expanding outward, we don’t know yet. That information is being held close to the vest on a need to know basis, for obvious reasons. We think we need to know, but CLEAR doesn’t want it spread around due to security concerns, and the ever changing schedule by the tower engineers. We clearly understand that reasoning, but will continue to seek current information regarding expansion or increased coverage once released to us.

Has your CLEAR 4G service noticeably improved lately? Let us know by posting a comment here, or sending us an email to lee@wimaxsatx.com. Share your CLEAR experiences with us and our readers. All comments are of course moderated, only to keep Spam comments out (and we get a lot of those on a weekly basis, mostly from outside the USA).

Contact WiMax San Antonio for any of your CLEAR needs in the San Antonio or Austin market areas and we’ll be happy to help you, regardless of where you bought your CLEAR service. If you don’t have CLEAR service yet, we’ll be happy to come demo it for you, and sell it to you. Call us at 210-771-7075 in San Antonio, or 512-52-CLEAR for the San Marcos or Austin market area.
