My Sprint EVO Keeps On Going And Going…

Thanks to a portable battery used to recharge my EVO on the go,  I can go all day without running out of battery power on my Sprint EVO.   I first learned about this device while reading my favorite EVO website, www.GoodandEVO.net.

G&E Webmaster Jenn K. Lee did a very complete review of the Splash Intense 54oo mAhr portable battery that has 2 USB ports for charging devices or running them, and a single micro USB port for inbound charging.

The Splash Intense comes with a retractable USB cable and a handful of different tips compatible with various cell phones and media players.

The microUSB tip needed for the EVO is included, so you don’t have to sacrifice the cable that was bundled with the phone for this battery.  The power pack is coated in a silky smooth rubber-like material that gives it a high quality look and feel. The soft finish and rounded corners make it nice to hold.

We bought ours on Amazon.com for $46.99, which included free shipping.  One vendor offered it for $43.99, but wanted another $5.99 for shipping.  Duhh?  Even we can do the math with this transaction.

Anyway, we’ve been able to “charge on the go” whenever our EVO power runs low.  I’ve had the Splash Intense sitting in my pants pocket (I tend to wear cargo style pants with extra side pockets) and connected to my EVO so that I can keep on going, long after the stock 1500 mAhr battery has reached it’s limits for the day.   We’ve recharged our EVO two or three times completely using the Splash Intense before it needed recharged itself.  It holds power quite well for up to a week at a time (the longest I’ve gone without recharging it).

This item was initially designed for powering those “i” thingys, like iPhone, iPad, iTouch, etc., or any other device using a USB method of power.
